Day 1

Day 1

Depart from Denver late-morning to avoid traffic summer mountain traffic! Enjoy the views through Summit County and especially of all the 14,000’ peaks over Fremont Pass.

Grab lunch at Tommyknocker Brewery in Idaho Springs on the way down. Try their BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with BeerBQ Sauce and housemade slaw – pairs perfectly with their Vienna Amber Lager or their craft Root Beer!

Either head to one of the best camping spots in the area (too coveted to publish – please contact us!) or check in at one of the many lodging options in Buena Vista. Tonight, it’s and dinner at The Lariat which includes tons of microbrews on tap, an upscale bar menu including cheese curds and buffalo sliders, as well as live entertainment almost every night!

Day 2

Day 2

Up with the sun today and be one of the first in line at The Roastery for a fresh breakfast burrito and a hot cup of coffee. Meet at the AAE Rafting Outpost @ 8:15 a.m. for your Numbers Deluxe Tour.

You’ll start your day in the country’s ONLY raftable National Monument, Browns Canyon. This beautiful stretch of Class II and III whitewater will be the perfect warm-up for your high-adventure afternoon. Following your Browns Canyon morning run, you’ll be treated to a gourmet burger lunch in our Riverside Beer Garden. Once you’re fueled up, it’s up to the Numbers you go to crush Class IV and V rapids on one of Colorado’s top whitewater runs.

After all that whitewater, you’ll definitely be ready for a cocktail! Head to the Deerhammer Distillery for a tasting and tour of our award-winning local whiskey maker. Once that hunger sets in, walk a couple blocks down Main Street to House Rock Kitchen for globally-inspired made-from-scratch bowls that will leave you satisfied after a long day of adventure.

Day 3

Day 3

Feeling healthy? Head to The Blend for one of their homemade smoothie bowls or breakfast bagel sandwiches. Feeling like it might be a ‘cheat day’? Then head to Loback’s for the homemade doughnut of your dreams! If you have any energy leftover from yesterday, it’s the perfect time for a gorgeous, easy hike up North Cottonwood Trail.

On your way back down to town from the trail, skip right over to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs and enjoy a much-deserved soak! This 100% natural hot springs resort boasts a historic bath house, creek-side soaking, and a 400’ water slide for the kids. Remember to drink lots of water and you’ll leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated!

A trip to Buena Vista just isn’t complete without a burger from Colorado’s Best Food Truck – The Buena Viking. Owned by locals, a former chef and his river-loving wife, this will seriously be one of the best burgers (veggie or otherwise!) you’ve ever had. And then, reality calls – time to head back to the city. We hope you enjoyed your time and come back soon for more adventure! More rafting, climbing your first 14er, ziplining, and horseback riding will be ready and waiting for you on your next trip to Buena Vista.
