After being paired with the perfect horse for your size and ability levels, our expert wranglers will lead you through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the West! You’ll wind your way between Aspen groves, through high alpine meadows, and over pristine Colorado creeks. This is an adventure that experienced riders and novices alike will appreciate!
*This trip departs from the Mt. Princeton Stables in Nathrop, Colorado just South of Buena Vista and the minimum age is 6 years old.
From the top of 8 mile hill you’ll get spectacular views of the Royal Gorge and the Sangre de Christo Mountains. Pair that with the rich history and entertaining stories provided by our wranglers and you’ve got an adventure that’s perfect for the whole family!

In addition to an age, size, and experience level appropriate horse we provide professional and entertaining Colorado Wranglers that will be with you the entire trip. These highly trained professionals will go over a brief training orientation teaching you proper techniques for steering, stopping, mounting and dismounting, and general handling of your horse. They’ll share historical information, points of interest, fascinating stories, and some very funny Wild West humor all along the trail to keep you smiling the entire time!

Combine any half-day of rafting with either of our Horseback trail ride options and you’ll have an adventure package that will show you the best our rivers and mountains have to offer! From the Wild West to some wild whitewater, this package will have you hollering Yee-Haw from start to finish. This trip also includes a hearty Colorado BBQ lunch served in between activities right on the banks of the Arkansas River!
