2016 Rafting Season!

Welcome 2016 Rafters!

The 2016 rafting season has finally began in Colorado on the Arkansas River! We are excited to start this rafting season off with a splash and want to welcome our returning guides back for another season on the Arkansas River, as well as our trainees that are currently going through a three week raft guide training course. As the weather becomes warmer in Buena Vista and Canon City, we look forward to sharing our love for the Arkansas River with all of you this summer!

The river is already pushing towards 1,000 CFS down in the Royal Gorge. As the snow starts to melt faster the river will rise and we will enter our exciting high water season for a few weeks in the end of May and beginning of June. The snowpack this year was well above average which typically translates to higher than average peak flows and a longer than average rafting season. So basically, we are going to have a rad rafting season this summer!

We have made a few additions this summer including six new red NRS rafts plus a plethora of new wetsuits, helmets, splash jackets, river shoes and other rafting gear at both outposts. All of this gear is offered at both of our outposts and will help keep you warm on those colder days and safe out on the rafts!

Our guides want to welcome returning and new guests to join us on a beautiful Colorado adventure down the Arkansas River this summer. We have many guides who have over 10 years of experience guiding with us and we will be sharing with you their stories throughout the summer. But for now, we are just stoked to be rafting and can’t wait to meet all of you this summer!
